Reverse-engineering an obsolete worm wheel

If the OEM is gone, we need the old wheel or a decent sketch. A photo of a photo is how you get the wrong ratio.

The MS90 / Stockport Gears kit in this shop still cuts worms and wheels that catalogues dropped. We have done this for bakeries, bottlers and the odd pump gearbox.

Bring the worn wheel if you can. Centre distance, starts, and the mating pinion tell us more than a model number from 1984.

Lead time depends on material (bronze is not a next-day melt) and whether the pinion is reusable. We will say so up front.

This is not 3D-printed. Workshop FDM (Creality-class, 220 × 220 × 250 mm) is for jigs and prototypes only — not a production gear.
