Problem: A 6 metre shaft, 100 mm diameter, needed four keyways that were not on any standard spacing. A stockholder’s ‘we don’t slot that’ was the other quote.
What Arrow did: Turned and slotted on the XYZ BRM bed mill in Salford. Four non-standard keyways, one setup.
Outcome: One shaft, to drawing, from the same site that holds the couplings it fits.
